Aloysius Yapp won the US Open Pool Championship at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City, defeating world No. 1 Fedor Gorst. The Singaporean player became the first in history to win three consecutive Matchroom majors, adding the US Open title to his UK Open and Florida Open victories earlier in 2025.
Yapp defeated the defending champion Gorst in the final. Gorst had completed the Gorst Slam just a year prior. Yapp’s performance in the final match secured victory against one of the game’s top competitors.
The victory propelled Yapp to world No. 2 in the Nineball Rankings. His consistent play throughout the match contributed to his success.
Yapp has won three consecutive major tournaments in 2025. The 29-year-old captured the UK Open and Florida Open earlier in the year before winning the US Open. He achieved the World Junior Championship in nine-ball in 2014.
The $100,000 winner’s prize and World Nineball Tour ranking points accompany his achievement. Yapp’s three consecutive Matchroom major championships place him among the top players in contemporary nine-ball pool.
