Recap

Published April 13, 2026

Joshua Filler won his first World Pool Masters title in Gibraltar, defeating Hong Kong’s Lo Ho Sum 9-6 in the final at the Europa Point Sports Complex. At 24 years old, Filler became one of an exclusive group of players to win the World Pool Championship, US Open Pool Championship, Mosconi Cup, World Cup of Pool, and World Pool Masters.

Filler’s path to the final included a comeback win in the semifinals against former world champion Ko Pin Yi. After trailing 3-0, Filler won seven consecutive racks to secure a 7-3 victory. Lo Ho Sum reached the final by defeating Poland’s Mieszko Fortunski 7-5 in the other semifinal.

The final started poorly for Filler, who scratched on the break and fell behind 2-0. Lo Ho Sum led in the early stages of the match. Filler regained momentum in the third rack and began closing the gap.

Filler won his quarterfinal match over Dennis Orcollo 7-0. Building on a 3-2 lead, Filler maintained consistent play through the middle stages of the final. Lo Ho Sum remained competitive throughout, but Filler won 9-6 to claim the World Pool Masters title.
