Team Europe won their third consecutive Mosconi Cup title at the 2022 tournament, defeating Team USA 11-7 at Bally’s Las Vegas. German star Joshua Filler earned Cuetec MVP honors after winning the clinching match.
On the final day, Europe held an 8-6 lead entering singles play. The American pairing of vice-captain Skyler Woodward and world champion Shane Van Boening won a doubles match 5-3 over Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and David Alcaide, cutting Europe’s lead to one point.
David Alcaide faced Skyler Woodward in singles play. Woodward led 3-1 but Alcaide won the remaining racks for a 5-3 victory that brought Europe within two wins of retaining the cup.
Jayson Shaw defeated Shane Van Boening 5-3 to put Europe on the hill. Joshua Filler then defeated Tyler Styer 5-3, clinching the Mosconi Cup and earning the individual MVP award.
