Jayson Shaw won his first US Open 9-Ball Championship title in 2017. The Scottish player defeated 139 competitors to claim the 42nd edition of the tournament, earning the green jacket that comes with US Open victory.

Shaw faced 18-year-old Albanian player Eklent Kaci in the final. Kaci advanced to his first major championship match after a strong performance throughout the tournament. Shaw won the match to claim the title.

Francisco Sanchez Ruiz and Chang Jun Lin finished in third and fourth place respectively. The top finishers represented Scotland, Albania, Spain, and Taiwan, demonstrating the international participation in nine-ball competition by 2017.

The victory gave Shaw the traditional green blazer and free entry to future US Opens.
