Jayson Shaw won the 2016 Derby City Classic's Bigfoot 10-Ball Challenge, defeating Shane Van Boening in the final. Shaw earned $16,000 and the championship trophy, marking his first Bigfoot title.

The tournament featured top international players including Efren Reyes, Francisco Bustamante, Dennis Orcollo, and Lee Vann Corteza. Van Boening finished as runner-up and received $8,000.

The Bigfoot Challenge used a shorter race format and was held at Horseshoe Southern Indiana over one week. Shaw won the event to capture the title.

Shaw also competed in the One Pocket division that same week, finishing tied for 5th place. Alex Pagulayan won the One Pocket event. Shaw went on to win the Bigfoot title multiple times and capture several Derby City Classic championships in subsequent years.

Van Boening competed against international players at the event. Shaw and Van Boening faced each other in matches in the years following this tournament.
