Shane Van Boening won the 2013 US Open 9-Ball Championship in Chesapeake, Virginia, defeating Lee Vann Corteza in the final. The victory was Van Boening's third US Open 9-ball title and his second consecutive championship.

The victory at the Marriott Chesapeake placed Van Boening among an elite group of multiple US Open 9-ball champions. At 29 years old, Van Boening matched Mike Sigel's three titles (1976, 1980, 1983), though Earl Strickland held five US Open 9-ball championships. Van Boening won consecutive titles in 2012 and 2013.

Van Boening navigated the 256-player field through the double-elimination format. The hearing-impaired player from Rapid City, South Dakota, advanced through the tournament while defending his 2012 title.

Runner-up Lee Vann Corteza reached the final of the US Open, one of pool's most prestigious events. The US Open uses an open format that requires only an entry fee for participation, allowing professional players, amateurs, and regional competitors to compete.
