The tenth edition of the Mosconi Cup took place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, marking the first time the competition was held outside England. Team USA defeated Europe 11-9 in the final match.
Team USA entered the final day trailing 8-6 after Europe won 5-0 on Saturday. The American team was captained by Nick Varner and included Johnny Archer, Earl Strickland, Rodney Morris, Jeremy Jones, Charlie Williams, and Tony Robles. Europe's team was captained by Oliver Ortmann and featured Mika Immonen from Finland, who earned MVP honors despite the loss.
On Sunday, Rodney Morris defeated Thorsten Hohmann 5-3. Johnny Archer won against Steve Davis 5-2. Earl Strickland beat Nick van den Berg 5-4, and Tony Robles defeated Mika Immonen 5-2 to secure the Cup for Team USA.
