Germany’s Ralf Souquet won the 2002 World Pool Masters, defeating Efren Reyes in the final at Milton Keynes. Souquet went on to claim a record six World Pool Masters titles throughout his career in the 9-ball invitational tournament.
Souquet employed a methodical playing style to advance through the single-elimination format. His approach differed from Reyes’ creative shot-making. Souquet won the final match to secure the title.
This victory occurred during a successful period of Souquet’s career, following his 1996 World Nine-ball Championship victory. The World Pool Masters features only elite players, making it one of pool’s premier invitational events.
The 2002 World Pool Masters used a single-elimination format, where losses end a player’s tournament participation. Souquet defeated top players throughout the event. He was later inducted into the BCA Hall of Fame.
