Europe's squad was captained by snooker legend Steve Davis and included Germany's Ralf Souquet, Finland's Mika Immonen, and the Netherlands' Niels Feijen. The European team secured one match victory during the competition.
The tournament format featured a mix of doubles and singles matches. Europe's only victory came in the opening session when Niels Feijen and Mika Immonen defeated Nick Varner and Johnny Archer 5-3 in doubles play. Team USA won all remaining matches.
The 12-1 scoreline was among the most decisive victories in Mosconi Cup history. American players dominated 9-ball pool competition at the time. The competition, first launched by Barry Hearn in 1994, served as the sport's premier trans-Atlantic showcase.
